Privacy policy — Side
Last updated: May 14, 2026 · Contact: sidebudget@gmail.com
1. Who we are and what Side is
Side is a personal budgeting application operated by McCunes Edible Spoons LLC, a Wisconsin
limited liability company (“we,” “us,” “our”). We collect only what we reasonably need to run accounts, sync data
you choose to connect, process payments, and improve reliability and security. Contact:
sidebudget@gmail.com.
2. Data we may collect
- Account data: email, identifiers, and authentication data from our sign‑in provider.
- App data you enter: budgets, categories, notes, and similar content you save in Side.
-
Financial connection data (optional): if you connect a bank, our partner (for example Plaid)
receives credentials or tokens needed to fetch transactions; we store what is needed to show them in Side.
- Payment data: our payment processor stores card and billing details; we typically receive a customer id and subscription status, not your full card number.
- Diagnostics: basic logs or crash data may be collected by our hosting or app platform to keep the Service working.
3. How we use data
We use data to provide and secure the Service, process subscriptions, respond to support, and comply with law.
4. Sharing — no sale; no independent disclosure without your express written consent
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not disclose or distribute your personal information to any independent third party for that party’s own
business, advertising, or resale purposes without your express written consent.
We may share information only in these limited situations:
-
Service providers (processors). We use vendors who help us run Side under written terms and
only on our instructions—for example hosting and authentication (such as Supabase), bank connectivity (such as Plaid),
payments and subscriptions (such as Stripe, Apple, or Google), and similar infrastructure. They are not allowed to
use your data for their own marketing.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information if we believe in good faith it is required by law,
legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or security of users, the public, or Side.
- With your direction. When you ask us to share something (for example exporting your data to yourself).
-
Business transfer. If Side is acquired or merged, data may transfer as part of that transaction,
still subject to this policy or equivalent protections we will describe to you.
5. Retention
We keep information while your account exists and as needed for legal, tax, or fraud‑prevention obligations.
You may request deletion of your account subject to any minimum retention the law requires.
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
7. Children
Side is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. International users
We may process data in the United States or where our service providers operate. By using Side, you understand your information may be transferred across borders.
9. Your choices
You may access, correct, or delete certain information in the app or by emailing us. You may cancel subscriptions
through the same channel you used to purchase (App Store, Google Play, or our web checkout).
10. Changes
We may update this policy by changing the “Last updated” date. If changes are material, we will provide a clearer notice when we can (for example in the app or by email).
